2026 DSM Capitals Tryout Camp

Please register using the grade the player will be in during the 2026/2027 school year

The Des Moines Capitals Tryout Camp is designed to identify and develop dedicated athletes ready to compete at the highest level of high school hockey in Iowa. This camp provides players the opportunity to showcase their skill, speed, hockey IQ, and compete level in a structured, high-intensity environment.

Throughout the camp, athletes will be evaluated on:

• Skating power and edge control

• Puck handling and decision making under pressure

• Offensive and defensive awareness

• Battle level and compete intensity

• Conditioning and work ethic

• Coachability and team mindset

Participants will take part in structured skill sessions, small-area competitions, and full-ice scrimmages designed to simulate real game situations. Coaches will be assessing not only talent, but leadership, character, and commitment to the Capitals standard.
